Two elements that can vary from source to source are Sales Tax and Shipping Charges. Because these are based on variable factors that affect all clients differently, RealArb may need to be made aware if they are affecting your profit margins. These two elements are not included in the price formula for all marketplaces. Below are some tips and tricks on how you can avoid these additional charges and increase your profit margins.

Shipping Charges - Almost every source RealArb works with will waive the shipping charges if you hit a certain dollar amount when checking out. An example has been provided below.

Due to this we do not add the cost of shipping from the source to the price formula that gets published to your ecommerce account. Instead RealArb will increase your sales from a source, to a daily average that will always hit the needed amount for free shipping. This way we can keep prices lower and keep sales up. Let us know what source you need to do more sales on and we will make the necessary adjustment.

Domestic Sales Tax - Sales tax is going to vary from state to state domestically in the United States. It will also vary depending on the category of the item you are purchasing. For example the categories of shoes and apparel, in Pennsylvania, are untaxed. Meaning anytime you purchase shoes or clothing online and you are sending it to a PA address the buyer will not have to pay sales tax. This is not the case for all US states and the percentage of sales tax charged may vary. Due to the inconsistences with the current US sales tax ecommerce laws it becomes to difficult to predict and therefore we are unable to add it to the price formula.

Solution 1: Utilize our fulfillment partners Relax and Ship. Because Relax and Ship is located in Pennsylvania you will be able to take advantage of Pennsylvania's advantageous sales tax laws. Check them out at RelaxandShip.com

Solution 2: Get familiar with your states ecommerce tax laws. There may be categories that work better for you and therefore yield higher profits.

Solution 3: Although many of our sources will not allow a reseller to become tax exempt that is not the case for all sources. See if the sources you work with have a tax exempt program that you may qualify for.

International Sales Tax - This can also be referred to as "Customs" or "Duties". This is always added to the price formula as it is much more consistent a charge.
